Job Purpose

? To provide consulting, business capture and development in China for a specific industry vertical’s prospects and customers or other specific account as may be assigned by your Manager with agreement from the Head of Greater China from time to time.
? The BC assists clients to determine their business issues and recommend solutions to drive business value
? Acts as liaison with clients for major troubleshooting - investigate, analyze, and solve software problems and map client business requirements, processes and objectives, develop necessary product modifications to satisfy client’s needs

Dimensions

The post requires the ability to work closely with all key personnel in your assigned Vertical Industry Box (team), which AVEVA terms as “VIB”, and other senior management of AVEVA Greater China.


Principal Accountabilities

? Take sales opportunities created by yourself and Sales and develop into much bigger solutions
? Analyze the current business processes and scenarios of the client and recommend develop solutions to meet the clients need
? Business Development for agreed upon AVEVA solutions in China
? Identify potential business opportunities for your VIB and the Company
? Implementing China strategy by identifying new growth opportunities
? Work closely with Sales and the service team to promote better-than-expected business growth and achieve team targets
? Develop and oversee/manage solution workshops for strategic prospects and customers
? Support all Marketing/workshop activities when needed;
? Market research & analysis to better understand business issues for companies within your prescribed industry
? Assist Sales to assess greater technical service opportunities around a given software sale prospect
? Identify trends and business opportunities by researching industry related events and publications, social networking and other sources
? Develop and maintain client relationships with at least C-level and mid-management for your prescribed industry
? Develop and deliver client facing sales presentations
? Participate and/or lead VIB and account planning sessions for your industry targeted accounts
? Work with your VIB leader and Sales to determine your industry white space targets
? Generate client value proposition, gain client consensus and drive industry opportunity
? Participate and review solution opportunities in weekly Sales and/or VIB meetings
? Work with Marketing to promote white papers and other AVEVA intelligence in industry journals and wider media
? Cooperate with Sales to manage opportunities as they progress through longer sales cycles
? Leverage your 3 year target tenure to assist Sales in developing more larger and longer sales cycle–type opportunities
? Continue to study and learn AVEVA’s product and solutions’ technical makeup, specifications and platforms
? Become an expert on trends in new products and services in your industry and advise senior management of the opportunities that can drive value for the Company
? Drive industry strategic direction by utilizing a variety of research methods, including the collection of competitive intelligence and developing your own primary research to help shape new solutions and frontiers for your VIB and the Company overall
? Help to identify and select external partners to help further widen the business potential for every given customer
? Frequent interaction with C-level executives and senior officers of your prescribed industry’s companies and similar corporations globally that are product and technology leaders to help drive better critical decisions and to close bigger and better sales agreements
? Utilise consulting skills to drive solution sales even beyond the scope of AVEVA’s products
? Oversee the successful implementation of your recommended AVEVA products and solutions
? Constantly update and provide detailed knowledge of industry best practices
Important Working Relationships

The role requires the ability to work with a various parties including:
? Customers
? Internal technical teams for pre-sales and post sales installations, training and customer platform development, etc.
? Your VIB sales team
? AVEVA Greater China Management
? Marketing
? Business capture and consulting colleagues in HQ and other regions

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
? Expert knowledge in a specialty or professional field and strong business acumen, specifically in software
? Worked on complex and unique projects requiring in-depth evaluation to generate solutions to business problems, applied a high level of critical thinking and ingenuity to successfully resolve complex and strategic issues
? B.Sc. or above Degree or MBA
? 5-8 years or above in business development and/or product management working experience in IT, telecommunications or Internet companies, generating your own value added services
? Proven track record of building a new business within a technical organization from the ground up
? Strong creative thinking skills and extremely hard working
? Excellent communication and presentation skills
? Strong organization skills
? Responsible, loyal, dedicated, and a good team player
? Be able to work independently and lead proactively
? Be self- motivated and supportive with interests of AVEVA’s customers and shareholders as paramount
? Willing to travel frequently in the country and work under pressure
? Fluent both in English and Chinese, good translating skills (Chinese to English or English to Chinese)
? Experience in proposal writing and presentation material development
? Experience in consultative selling
? Willingness and past experience on gaining deep knowledge of the codes and platforms underneath your previous companies’ software and solutions
