Ringier China is looking for a Commercial Director to lead its Shanghai Expat website. Shanghai Expat is one of the city’s longest running and most highly trafficked digital properties, featuring China’s largest forums and a socially activated international audience. The commercial director role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and includes P&L responsibilities and leadership of editorial and sales teams. He or she will be tasked with driving the brand forward with a full website relaunch and further development of new sales channels and business development opportunities.
The role
The responsibilities include:
* Lead and management of Shanghai Expat operations and expansion, including sales, editorial and marketing functions
* Full P&L responsibility (multi-million RMB)
* Business development and client relationship
* Management of a local staff of 5
About you
* Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Media, Consulting, Advertising or as an Entrepreneur
* Strong experience in Management of multi-cultural teams
* Strong Leadership skills like motivating and mobilizing people, create a creative and innovative culture, based on very strong communication skills
* Successful track record in growing digital businesses
* Strong understanding of publishing and media business
* Outstanding analytical capabilities, with the ability to set-up, analyze and optimize data reports
* Ability to work in a fast paced, international and multicultural team environment
* Digital Savvy, charismatic and dynamic
* Fluent in English and Chinese (spoken and written) preferred
