This position is based in Shanghai, China and requires short-term travel to Austin, Texas. This role will report to the European Localization Group Manager at NI Corporate Headquarters in Austin.

Core Job Responsibilities
? Test the localized software and work with product developers to debug localization issues
? Provide technical expertise and mentoring to Technical Translators, as well as contribute to terminology decisions
? Review and sign-off on the localized content translated by Technical Translators
? Design localization tools to help Technical Translators be more efficient
? Effectively make use of the various development tools used in the group
? Provide internationalization advice and evangelize localization-friendly processes among product developers and managers

Position Requirements
? B. S. or above in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or comparable degree
? Native fluency level in French
? English language competency and effective communication skills
? Good understanding of computer architecture
? Experience with software development processes
? Basic knowledge of a major high-level programming language
? Basic knowledge of internationalization rules in software design
? Ability to:
o Work effectively with others in a multi-cultural environment
o Solve problems effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions; enjoy problem solving
o Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
o Persistently drive tasks and projects to successful completion
o Take ownership of goals and project schedules
o Listen attentively and grasp fast-paced technical conversations
o Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
? Passion for learning about and working with computer-industry technologies
? Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
? Can clearly and concisely communicate in English and French, so that persons you work with can understand you clearly, particularly in technical conversations
