Principal Accountabilities
Marketing Communications and Press Relations
? Manage and co-ordinate the production of Company promotional materials in local languages for China and Taiwan, liasing directly with suppliers to source material and negotiate prices within agreed budgets. Ensure that all such communications activities are consistently executed, maintaining a consistency of both message and theme, conforming to corporate guidelines.
? Develop a press and public relations strategy for Edwards China focusing upon achieving greater exposure through both trade, technical and other press. This will be achieved through working closely with Edwards communications specialists in other territories. Manage or co ordinate the publication of media-relations material, including technical papers.
? Translate relevant marketing material to local languages and ensure they are accurate and rolled out timely to the sales team/customers.
Sales and Marketing Activities
? Manage and co-ordinate an exhibition program, from researching and recommending suitable exhibitions and seminars, the booking of shows/venues to stand design, arranging for the availability and shipping to venues of display products and materials and ensuring that key dates and actions are met. This will include major international events and requires coordination with global peer group to ensure a cohesive corporate image is maintained. Advise regional sales teams and distributors of any smaller local exhibitions which may be relevant to visit.
? Manage local Internet and intranet sites.
? Plan and design all internal and external e-newsletter in consultation with MCMA and ensure that these are rolled out as per set schedule.
? Source customer gifts for global requirement from China and suggest new items available to enable cost savings by collating the global requirement.
? Manage print and e-advertising for China and Taiwan.
? Ensure a relevant and up-to-date database is maintained for Asian customer contacts by using outsourcing company in China.

Knowledge, Skills, Experienced Required
? A good standard of education with 2-3 years relevant sales/marketing experience.
? Professional qualification in Marketing.
? Computer literate with a high level of skill in the use of the relevant software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, e-mail, adobe, desktop publishing), including Chinese language versions where appropriate.
? Ability to collate and organise data to support the sales and marketing/promotional activities.
? Self-motivated with the ability to generally work unsupervised and use personal initiative in progressing own work.
? A flexible approach, able to cope with a constantly changing environment and priorities, work under pressure and handle variable workloads.
? A good communicator with the ability to deal with people effectively and with authority, including at senior management level within the Edwards and all other external and customer interfaces.
? Fluent in Mandarin and relevant dialect. Strong English and translation skills required.
? Show a concern for order by being personally well organised, including looking for ways of improving processes.
