Day to Day Responsibilities:
Bridges the technical gap between Development, Division Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and customers to ensure the division’s global product specifications meet the needs of all parties. May work with Applications Engineering in fulfilling this responsibility
Gathers prioritized customer product requirements from Applications Engineering as input to the division’s global product specifications and to justify quality architecture concepts
Ensures a theoretical basis exists for current global product specifications and future attribute performance targets
Supports Applications Engineering in executing the product / process qualification process to anticipate the potential impact of changes in Corning’s products to the customer
Assesses the impact of proposed process, material, or design changes on product performance and works with Applications Engineering to ensure the transparency of these changes to the customer

Supports Applications Engineering, Development, Division Engineering, and / or Manufacturing in conducting cost / benefit analyses and tests for proposed product improvements and new product introductions
Assists Applications Engineering in communicating the benefits of product enhancements, as needed
Proactively identifies and resolves second level customer issues and assists Applications Engineers in delivering high quality first level product support and customer issue resolution
May support Applications Engineering in ensuring that testing methods are compliant with domestic and international standards, as appropriate
May gather and compile technical information from vendors, customers, and Account Engineers to maintain an up-to-date database of customer needs to inform the division’s global product specifications
May work with Product Line Management to develop and present a compelling value proposition for new products / services / attributes
Works with specialists to quantify the value to the division’s customers yielded through technical and process improvements that result from Corning’s solution
May oversee, develop, and direct a team of Product and / or Applications Engineers

Education & Experience

Education
University graduate and Master degree is a plus
Major in Engineering is preferable

Experience
Working experience in customer interface work, Applications Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product/Process Development, technical project management in high matrix organization
At least 1~2 years working experiences in relative function
At least 3~4 years working experience in display industries, including panel maker equipment vendor


Required Skills
Knowledge
Glass manufacturing and attribute.
Quality, Inspection, Finishing and/or Forming process is a plus
Display technologies, panel manufacturing processes, display key parts and processes and equipment

Skills
Ability to envision technical market trends and build appropriate roadmaps
Ability to interact effectively with customers, and other industry leaders and represent on technical issues
Ability to interact effectively with internal groups to assure programs are in place so products meet customers’ evolving technical requirements
Ability to network throughout TFT-LCD value chain
Ability to set actions and follow through with a sense of urgency.
Ability to work and communicate across varied Asian cultures
Fluent in English and Chinese
Commercial savvy, can prioritize issues
Well organized, process oriented, systematic approach to problem solving
Ability to influence customer technology decisions, when appropriate, through compelling technical and business justifications.
Strong technical / analytical skills…Detail oriented
Strong desire to manage business relationships using combination of data driven analysis, strategic thinking, networking and strong interpersonal skills
Good communicator. Ability to present ideas using diverse media
