Associate Research Manager (Qualitative Research)
Location:Guangzhou
Job Summary
? Manages the total research needs of a set of clients (representing total billings to be agreed with the Managing Director/Research Director) by initiating researches based on client objectives and supervising their implementation.
? Acts as Product Champion for specific Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) service/s, with responsibility for promoting the service, overseeing projects utilizing the specific service, and providing expert advice and training to research staff undertaking such projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business Building
1. Identify potential clients for new business development in line with Company’s objective and initiate contact with them.
2. Conduct oral briefings and presentations of TNS services.
Specialization
1. Develop mastery of specific TNS product/s or service/s
2. Develop the marketing plan for the specific product/s and/or service/s championed.
3. Take overall charge of promoting a specific TNS product(s)/service(s) and supervise the implementation of researches utilizing such product/service.
Client Servicing
1. Service the requirements of a set of accounts.
2. Acts as marketing and research consultant by identifying client needs and designing the most appropriate research methodology in answer to these needs.
3. Establish a working relationship with client based on partnership.
4. Ensure constant communication with assigned accounts.
Project Management
1. Review (or establish, as necessary) budgets and timing for each project or service.
2. Review (or prepare, as necessary) research proposals and instruments before final release to client.
3. Support and guide research staff in the proper and efficient implementation of each project/service.
4. Monitor project implementation.
5. Monitor the profitability of accounts, to include ensuring updated status of receivables.
Analysis and Reporting
1. Review (or prepare, as necessary) the written analysis of results of researches conducted and clear packaged reports prior to final approval by a Director.
2. Undertake oral presentation of results to client.
Personal Supervision
1. Train, supervise and evaluate Research staff (Executives/Assistants) assigned to the unit.
2. Recommend personnel actions, such as hiring, promotion, transfer, salary review or dismissal.
Other
1. Participate in special projects, which the Company may undertake.
2. Undertake special administrative tasks as may be assigned.
Expectations
1. Ensure the financial objectives for the assigned set of accounts or TNS product(s)/service(s).
2. Ensure client satisfaction by championing adherence to the “One Extra Step” principles and maintaining a good relationship with assigned clients.
3. Maintain close client contact to keep abreast of developments on client’s end, which may be opportunities for offering research services to client.
4. Keep abreast of developments in one’s assigned area of specialization by reading professional journals/books, attending conferences, etc.
5. Ensure the growth and development of assigned subordinates.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree or Master Degree from top university
? 4-5 years experience in market research or related function in either agency side or client side
? Solid experience in qualitative research especially moderation experience in diverse studies
? Excellent English and Mandarin skills both in written and oral
? Excellent in MS-Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills
? Have sound knowledge of overall market research technology and be able to apply to marketing / business practice and strategy
? Be able to think logically and insightfully
? Advanced analytical skills and be able to make value-added recommendations
? Strong client service and account management ability
? Strong project management skills
? Good people management skills
? A team player and be willing to work hard under high pressure and challenges
? In mature and professional manners
