Position:
We are currently seeking a full-time Website Content Manager / Travel Writer & Editor
Location:
Initially in Beijing, China
Job specifications and responsibilities:
This role will evolve rapidly, growing with the organization and your interests.
This position is focused on marketing to an English-speaking, Western audience. Near-term responsibilities may include:
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of all the written content on the website
- Ensuring that all website copy is optimized to be found by search engines
- Writing western traveler-focused content including location descriptions, website copy, social media copy (blog entries, etc.)
- Manage a team of free-lance writers and editors who will provide content regularly
- Cooperate with public relations manager to source, write, and submit appropriate copy to media outlets
Medium- to long-term responsibilities will be continuously expanding as we open new markets within the next year.
Education and experience requirements:
- We will consider experienced professionals as well as exceptional people early in their careers
- BA/BS degree with a strong academic record required
- A track record of creativity and writing accomplishment including a published works portfolio (Submission of a writing sample is required)
Key competencies and requirements:
- Native and outstanding English, demonstrating impeccable command of vocabulary and grammar, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated creative flair and the ability to write stylistically
- Chinese spoken ability is a plus but not required
- Desire to work in a start-up environment
- Track record for being proactive and taking initiative. Strong work ethic. Flexible work style. The ability define, structure and implement projects with vague requirements
- An appreciation for travel writing and good marketing/sales copy
- Outstanding creativity, enjoy formulating new promotional ideas
- Ability and desire to earn and apply marketing, sales, and public relations techniques
- Strong PowerPoint skills
- The desire and capability to leverage the power of a multi-cultural team to achieve optimal results
Development opportunity and compensation:
We are a fast-growing start-up company that plans to launch our product toward the end of this year and open new domestic and international markets within the next year.
