The Beijing team includes 3 technology centers: Text-To-Speech (TTS), Server Manageability, and LiveMeeting Recording and Playback.

Speech has been transforming how users interact with computers for the last 10 years. Everything, from being able to check movie times on the cell phone, to communicating with your vehicle using the power of your voice, has shown that Speech is maturing from the stuffs of science fiction, to becoming attractive experiences in reality. As a medium sized team with a big heart and grander visions, the TTS (Text-to-Speech) team believes that Speech and the Natural User Interface will one day be as commonplace as the display, keyboard and mouse. We are working passionately toward helping Microsoft to become the company that brings that vision of the future to the world. Server Manageability is extremely important to the OCG success. The OCG Management Tool team and the OCG Monitoring and Archiving team together are planning and developing a new framework to improve the Office Communications Server management infrastructure. The new management framework will play a pivotal role in helping the OCG organization’s goal of delivering the best communications server for the worldwide customers. Recording and playback makes communications and collaboration sessions that are traditionally irrevocable or one-time events revisit-able and repeatable and is one of important parts of collaboration lifecycle. Multimedia recordings are a new form of knowledge asset produced from collaborations and can be edited, shared and archived. The Live Meeting Recording and Playback team specializes on different media and content format. By using modern web and rich media technologies, such as Silverlight, the team is creating new generation recording and playback experiences and providing SharePoint based solutions for editing, sharing and archiving recordings

The TTS team is looking for a motivated, self-driven SDET to help ensure high quality of our speech synthesis engines.

As a Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET), you’ll own the testing of one or more feature areas in the product and ensure TTS's code quality and speech quality. Primary responsibilities include reviewing feature specifications, creating test plans and new test cases to cover most scenarios in feature specifications, developing test tools (in C/C++/C#), manually testing to find product bugs, creating automation test cases to prevent regression bugs in daily build, ensuring that all tests are executed according to the group's test guidelines and code reviewing bug fixes in the product. You will interact closely with other testers, the developers and program managers so good communication and collaboration is essential. You’ll likely interact with teams from different product groups that we depend on or utilizes our products, likely in different time zones. A willingness to go above and beyond the expectations set for you is central to your success in this position.

Qualifications:

- Passionate about technology, software quality, highly motivated, self disciplined, and detail oriented

- Strong drive for results

- Strong problem solving skills

- Proficiency in C/C++ or C# automation

- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

- Good communication skills in English

- Proven track record of cross group collaboration

- 2-3 years experience as a SDET or Software Design Engineer

- A BA/BS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related technical discipline is required

It will be helpful if you have following experience/skill:

- Experience in a speech technology area (text-to-speech, speech recognition, or computational linguistics).

- Experience in natural language processing
