This is a STRATEGICALLY important market to Microsoft for a number of reasons, among them:

- the embedded market opportunity is SIGNIFICANTLY larger than the entire PC market and is growing more rapidly from ~500 million devices in 2005 to a projected 2+ billion devices in 2012

- WEB is well positioned to empower the next generation of devices and to capture incremental enterprise service revenue through its new “Intelligent Systems” roadmap

- the “next big thing” will likely be an embedded device

- The WEB China team is looking for a seasoned Development Lead to help deliver the next version of Windows Embedded operating system and Automotive systems and software. Responsibilities include:

- Leading a team in conceptualizing, designing and implementing core features on WES (Windows Embedded Standard) OS including key Embedded runtime features and OEM tools

- Working with leading automotive manufacturers on multi-model year software development lifecycle

- Contribute to local customer and partner engagements in concert with the business group’s customer and partner initiatives in order to expand our product influence in the global stage

- Building and growing your team: sourcing and interviewing team candidates, nurturing, and growing world class Software Design Engineers

The ideal candidate has:

- 7+ years of technology experience

- 3+ years of lead experience

- Led a team through two complete product development cycles

- practical experience demonstrating success at dealing with ambiguous problems and the ability to make solidprogress when the solution is not well defined

- experience building and nurturing a team

- great cross group and cross geography collaboration skills

- excellent organizational, verbal and written English communication, and motivational skills

- demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically about technical and cross-functional issues

- a BA/BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or experience and training equivalent to a technical degree
