Our Windows Embedded Platform team is looking for a Senior SDET to join the Lockdown and Branding feature team. This team delivers features designed to enable the OEM and IHV to both lock a device into stateless operation and to customize the branding of the device in such a way that it either has no brand or reflects the branding the specific OEM provides. There are features which lock the keyboard, protect the disk volume, dismiss dialogs automatically, as well as run a custom shell. These features collectively are independent of Windows and are delivered as additional Embedded features. You will have the opportunity to impact a wide array of markets and device categories such as Thin Clients, Point of Service, Medical Devices, Digital Signage, Bank ATMs, Set Top Boxes , Slot Machines and even a Martini Mixer!

Being part of the team, there are numerous opportunities to provide leadership, architect test innovations, drive process improvements, and evangelize technical solutions across the team. You will have the opportunity to work with teams in Windows, Microsoft Research and other cool business groups in Microsoft. You will be responsible for driving the quality upstream by working closely with peers in Program Management and Dev team to engineer a high quality platform. If you like to work with customers, our Test team has many opportunities to interact with customers/partners through a variety of means, from writing MSDN whitepapers to on-site customer visits.

The ideal candidate would have a proven track record in shipping quality software products, as well as the ability to deal with complex and ambiguous problems in a timely manner. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with PM and Dev teams (as well as other teams within Microsoft). A strong passion for customers and partners is an absolute must. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are also required.

Basic Qualifications:

- BS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering.

- Experience in C/C++ or C# programming and debugging skills.

- Knowledge and experience of test processes such as test automation, code coverage, test plan and test case development.

- Experience with Windows Driver Model and/or Windows Driver Foundation

- 5+ years in software development engineer / test role.

Preferred (but not required) qualifications:

- Passion for quality and improving the end-user experiences

- Familiarity with these technologies is a plus: COM, XML, MFC, and Win32.

- Experience with UI Automation is nice to have

- An understanding of the complex nature of embedded software and drivers experience is preferred.
