职位描述
This position will support the Shanghai Disney Resort (SHDR) marketing, communication, sales, product development, pricing/ticketing, operations, food and beverage, merchandise, entertainment, HR and Imagineering departments through consumer insight and research. Deliver research and insights that inform marketing, sales, product, operations LOBs, ticketing, technology and cast related strategies. Manage primary research (predominantly qualitative) and collaborate with research teams/stakeholders across Disney Destinations, The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), and partner organizations, Disney China, to support SHDR's work. Actively place consumer insight at the heart of SHDR's thinking and action.
This position will report to the Consumer Insight Manager based in Shanghai.
Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of the market research process including needs identification, project design, instrument design (primarily qualitative), analysis, and presentation of results. Provide consultation to internal clients, including executives.
Develop screeners, guides and qualitative activities that reflect the appropriate cultural and language cues in both online and off-line environments
Moderating in-depth interviews/focus groups/safaris/BBS/online chats and forums
Interpret results to provide objective, clear and actionable findings that allow management to make fact-based decisions. Write qualitative research reports and review/re-write reports from external partners
Support online research communities by managing community briefs from client inception, through fielding to final reporting. Partner with external agency to develop activities that address client business needs, monitor community chatter and facilitate sessions as required maintaining strong vibrancy, summarizing and sharing findings. Review quality of activities and report translations. Review agency reports for accuracy of reporting, quality control check to data for consistency of findings
Effectively manage multiple project assignments at once across various client groups in a fast paced environment.
Provide regular status updates and share consumer insights gleaned to leverage market knowledge across a broad spectrum of Cast/LOBs
Build and manage relationships with internal/external partners, and primary research vendors
Ensure consumer perspectives are front-and-center across all LOB strategies
Requirements:
College Graduate
Hands-on marketing researcher with 5+ years experience in Marketing Research
At least 5 years experience working in a research role in Mainland China. Pan Asian experience a plus
Proven experience with qualitative techniques including moderating in-depth interviews/focus groups/safaris/BBS/online chats and forums
Able to establish suitable rapport with Disney target segments on sometimes difficult and contentious topics
Critical thinker, able to sort through complex business issues to develop research plans. Able to think out of the box and willing to try different research approaches
Able to conceptualize and build an analytic plan, design discussion guides, and partner with internal clients to develop appropriate stimulus materials
Demonstrated ability to identify thematic learning from qualitative experiences, translate research data into actionable insights and recommendations through compelling reports and presentations that tell a story. Demonstrated strong presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
Demonstrated ability to partner with external research consultants
Demonstrated strong partnering skills. Proven ability to handle conflict.
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
Able to maintain a strong sense of objectivity when sharing results
High attention to detail and accuracy
Written and verbal fluency in Mandarin and English (Cantonese a plus)
Desired Qualifications
Experience with ethnography and Market Research Online Communities (MROCs)
Advanced degree preferred
