As part of an area team, you secure that the stores of your area provide the best possible customer experience at the best profitability. To achieve this you set goals, give directions, follow-up, and act as a partner for the area manager to secure the long-term success in the local markets.
BUDGET & PLANNING
You are responsible for the budgets and financial plans for all areas related to the stores of your geographical area and area team.
Budgeting of sales, efficiency KPI’s and sales related costs for stores and area team in local markets. This in collaboration with store management, area team, and H&M support functions.
Define and communicate strategy to reach long and short term goals together with area team
Establish, communicate and reach commitment for selling and cost budgets (year/month/week).
Challenge and support stores and area team members in order to optimize the profitability.
Follow up and secure planning accuracy, service level and efficiency in accordance to yearly, monthly and weekly budgets.
 
BUSINESS CONTROLLING
You guide and support your local area to make the best business decisions for increased sales and improved profit. By securing good store operations aligned with the financial targets, you secure that the budgeted profit of your area is achieved and reported according to H&M group standards.
Overview expected financial outcomes, analyse reasons for deviations and take actions together with stores and area team to optimize profit.
Follow up on financial, operational and commercial results and targets and seek opportunities for sales increases and improved efficiency.
Communicate results to stores, head office and area team and together initiate needed operational actions for best profitability.
Together with HR ensure appropriate staffing, recruitment and trainings in order to secure daily operations and a long-term profitable growth.
In collaboration with local account departments secure that cost bookings and invoice handling is correctly handled in line with the budget.
 
PEOPLE & LEADERSHIP
Your are a role model for all team members and lead by example according to our global leadership expectations. As all controllers you area an ambassador for a profitability mind set in your team.
Role model in living the brand values and promoting a positive feedback culture.
Support the area manager in leading the area toward short and long term goals.
Work with talent management to secure succession planning.
Educate area team and store management on relevant controlling related aspects.
Secure with local support functions of H&M and central functions of COS that routines for cash office, stock management, reductions, security and audits are according to global and local standards.
 
Requirements:
 
About you…
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a finance, business or economics major
At least 1year of retail experience, preferably in retail management
Fluent in English both written and verbal
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Proven organizational and analytical skills and ability to use own initiative
Enjoy working as part of a team
Sales driven and results-oriented.
Ability to make decisions and take risks as needed with minimal guidance.
Strong problem solving skills and decision-making abilities
Ability to multi-task, determine key priorities and delegate.
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently.
Excellent organisation and planning skills.
Ability to set future goals and follow up on results.
Ability to provide strong leadership and act as a role model for the H&M/ COS shared values.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
