Day to Day Responsibilities:

Organization
? Responsible for China and Asia Pacific warehouses, logistics and transportation execution, demand, supply and distribution planning in region
? Dotted line responsibility for China and Asia Pacific Customer Service to ensure process integration and linkage to key supply chain strategies and metrics
? Primary point of contact for distributor and customer leadership on supply chain operations in region.

Leadership
? Create and communicate the vision and mission of the Corning Life Sciences (CLS) Asia supply chain organization.
? Establish and lead a culture focused on customers, quality, service and cost with continuous improvement
? Effectively integrate and communicate with CLS business teams and other functions to realize business strategies for the Asia region
? Plan and manage proper resource allocations to most effectively support current and future Asia business strategies and customer requirements.
? Ensure clear articulation of priorities, targets, metrics and accountabilities to the cross functional team.
? Direct the planning and implementation of integrated supply chain processes.
? Drive operational excellence with focus on process management and the use of performance excellence tools
? Lead the annual development of a supply chain vital few scorecard linked to division, region and functional vital few and drive execution with metrics tracking
? Lead the development and execution of the Asia supply chain cost reduction portfolio with linkage to 5-year planning and annual budgets.

Supply Chain Management
? Provide focus and leadership necessary to develop and execute strategies and drive improvement in supply chain planning and execution in order to meet customer service targets, optimize inventory levels, and reduce overall supply chain costs
? Effectively work with global planning team to establish and maintain proper inventory policies, forecasts and service metrics and conduct regular reviews of safety stocks, utility codes, backorders, forecasts and special customer demand/requirements and drive changes and corrective actions as needed to ensure required service levels.
? Manage CLS Asia 3PL relationships and ensure clear processes and metrics exist to deliver on customer and business requirements
? Lead the regional Sales & Operations process, demand and supply planning processes for the Asia region including development on monthly consensus plans
? Work with the Asia commercial team to maintain accurate product forecasts, capture new requirements, communicate demand spikes, large orders and tenders and allocate product when required.
? Pursue operational synergy with channel partners in a manner which brings value to Corning, to the distributor and to the end customer while supporting the achievements of the division's sales and profit objectives.
? Ensure employees in the Asia region are properly trained in global trade compliance with documented procedures in place to ensure compliance; maintain ongoing awareness of new and changing requirements.
? Represent Asia as a thought leader on the division Supply Chain User Group (SCUG). Ensure alignment of the division supply chain systems with changing Asia requirements.
? Keep abreast of all current trends and developments in the areas of supply chain management, logistics, warehousing and distribution and leverage these when and where applicable.

Customer Service
? Instill high standard of customer service within the Asia team with accountability to goals
? Establish and manage strong Customer relationships
? Ensure Asia supply chain team maintains detailed understanding of customer service requirements with regular update process to ensure currency
? Ensure appropriate services with optimized service levels to all channels

HR
? Provide consistent leadership and serve as a role model for Supply Chain staff through demonstrated exemplary behavior in the management of both task and people skills.
? Ensure that Asia supply chain organization develops and maintains subject matter expertise in key areas (e.g. distribution, order management, global trade compliance, etc.) with backups to SME and ongoing bench strength development
? Ensure daily supply chain activities are conducted observing local, regional, national and Corning legislation and directives.
? Ensure up to date process documentation and compliance with Sarbox requirements
? In close cooperation with HR

Project involved with:

* Develop a long term Asia supply chain strategy and plan (including network optimization, warehouse locations, planning strategies, resource/capability requirements and service and cost optimization) that delivers on the division manufacturing and commercial strategies with integration to the division 5-year planning process.
* Lead the planning and execution of a pan-Asia distribution center
* Lead the supply chain integration of the Discovery Labware business in Asia including determining how best to support the commercial strategy, meet customers' requirements and ensure lowest cost
* Develop/refine the Asia region Sales and Operations process including updating regional demand and supply planning process with integration to the global planning group and commercial and manufacturing teams.
* Develop and lead a Pan-Asia supply chain cost reduction portfolio
* Support or lead, as needed, integration of new acquisitions into the CLS business in Asia
* Work with corporate Procurement & Transportation (P&T) on the development of new Global Trade Compliance (GTC) tools and participate in key initiatives.
* Work with P&T to evaluate Asia transportation vendors, conduct business reviews and support negotiations.
* Represent supply chain and the Asia region on key project teams (e.g. new products, etc.) to ensure the design and implementation plans effectively address all key customer requirements, regional requirements and align with the regional business plan
* Conduct supply chain benchmarking in Life Sciences or comparable fields to help set metrics goals and improve processes and performance.
* Establish a reward and recognition plan to promote desired behaviors, promote customer focus and team work and support retention.

Education & Experience

Education Level
? Bachelors Degree. Strong cross-cultural skills; understand local culture and bi-lingual in Mandarin and English. Able to interact effectively with regional and global colleagues; understands the need for flexibility; open to trying new things

Experience (type and years of experience)
? Minimum of 5-10 years experience working in (international) Operations environment
? Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, processes, systems, tools and metrics
? Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross-functional team.
? Demonstrated Performance Excellence certification and results
? Experience across multiple businesses, division and/or technologies.
? Experience with global manufacturing and business through work or project experience.
Certified in Material Management (CPIM) or Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), APICS or certification related to Supply Chain.
