Supervise and coordinate the work of piping design team to perform layout and other design activities in order to produce information, specifications, and documentation for the construction and maintenance of process and utility piping systems.

Must apply design criteria and practices. In addition, must develop job plans, estimates and staffing needs for the project.

Apply strong leadership skills and a high level of knowledge of piping systems and components, applicable codes, and standards which is required to ensure the most effective design that complies with Safety and Loss Prevention principles and all industry national and local codes and regulations.

Has the ultimate responsibility for the integrity and completeness of the piping design for the entire project.

Has expertise in a particular piping skill or technology, may serve on Global Piping Technology Resource Network teams

Ensure that Piping interacts with all disciplines to minimize disconnects and errors in the design.

Check the accuracy, completeness and quality of any aspect of piping on the project.

Lay out the plant and equipment taking into account process considerations, constructability, operability and maintainability of the facilities.

Prepare piping material specifications for inquiry and order, prepare transmittals, evaluate bids and use the AM / SL lists.

Ensures that environmental regulations and Safety and Loss Prevention Principles are considered in design.

Participates in the development of global standards and specifications.
