职位描述

1.What are the strategic goals of organization / function / level?
Define and engage a preferred supply base for JGS's increasing focus on LCD’s, LCD components and LCD alternative solutions within the PC notebooks and flat panel monitors. Revenue Growth 25-30%, supply base development, supply base contacts / relationships, material sourcing / availability, margin growth / retention, inventory reduction.
2.What are the actual deliverables of the job?
Identifying who supplies what from a LCD component Tier 2 perspective, where/how they supply it. Communicating the supplier data to the regional materials, engineering teams, and facilitating a high level of application support from key suppliers. Interfacing with suppliers to drive JGS preferred terms and contracts / closure of supplier agreements. Develop a regional LCD component alternative supply chain strategy to support global operations. Demonstrate competence to internal stakeholders in this field in order to control AVL and sourcing with LCD’s and LCD components. The execution of a supply chain strategy, which supports growth in the LCD Sectors; specifically, commodity strategies and supply chain solutions which enable Jabil to offer alternate AVL’s and localization in each region. Lead the quarterly business reviews.
3.What differentiates high performance?
Quickly coming to an understanding of a supplier's capabilities and tier 2 alternative sources in the industry. Also key to relay that understanding to global materials, engineering, and SCM teams of when we should be using one supply chain solution versus another. Ability in understanding the supply chain from ODM /OEM relationships and how new LCD repair business supports in warranty and out of warranty business. Communicating to OEM’s JGS technical competency and gaining trust with LCD OEM’s to support operations. Grow PPV via cost reductions, value propositions which are implemented by customers using Jabil strategic suppliers. Achieving demonstrable improvement in supplier performance metrics. Enabling business or supply chain AML control wins.
4.What are the challenges the new incumbent will face?
The specific commodity areas are developing and it‘s currently a weakness with JGS SCM. We are requiring stronger focus in these areas and will require significant interaction with suppliers from conceptual design through implementation and testing phases to insure that total solution is appropriate. The tradeoffs will involve negotiating (or facilitating) functional performance specs, size/shape/packaging of components, cost, delivery, variants, and quality terms. Ability to translate critical technical details and weigh technical versus business variables is critical. Customers not willing to let go of LCD Commodity Management. BD not trusting GCM's competency (arms length). New position / field within Jabil. Managing conflict between Business Units and SCM organizations. Quickly understanding the Jabil culture and learning how to navigate within Jabil between BU’s, operations and SCM.
5.What are the key technical/functional skills associated with this position?
Must understand technical specification of LCD Panels in notebooks and flat panel monitors, LCD components, and supply chain processes with the LCD OEM’s, LCD Tier 2 supply base, and ODM’s. Engineering level knowledge of backlight technology (CCFL, LED), polarizer's (Surface treatment - hard-coat(glossy) and anti-glare(matte), low-reflection films), LCD manufacturing, and quality specifications. Knowledge of and navigation of Asian supply base. Ability to convey technical expertise in a sales/customer environment. A degree in Electrical and or Electronic Engineering, coupled with a Business Degree or excellent business acumen. At least 5-8 years experience in the LCD Industry in a supply chain role or other position where there is exposure to component and commodity pricing. Ability to focus on the development and execution of a strategic plan.
