Archibat HR Asia is looking for Project Manager for an Australian office furniture company to expanding their market share in Shanghai, it provides organizations in Australasia with new and innovative ways to engage their employees by creating spaces with products that are functional, appealing and forward thinking.
BASIC FUNCTION
1. Service strategic accounts assigned, present Harmony Services, identify opportunities, update and submit regular reports on customer visits and services rendered to the management and support strategic planning on account management.
2. In Harmony projects that require cross-geographical support, he works closely with the Strategic Project Leader, Sales/GAM and his counterparts in other regions to deliver service consistency with highest level of service experience/standards in project management across the region and insuring the greatest customer satisfaction rating and ultimately, customer retention.
3. Responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising the installation and reconfiguration of products.
4. Works closely with Order Fulfillment & Logistics Managers to ensure customers (internal & external) are kept informed of changes in shipment and installation dates.
5. Responsible for ensuring that order, product and installation problems are quickly and effectively resolved.
6. Responsible for efficient planning, organizing & executing project management works with minimum cost effect to the organization without compromising the quality of customer service in completing the projects.
7. Works closely with sales to quote on projects, takes up communication with the Logistic Manager to drive the compilation of competitive quotes and suggests methods to ensure the GP is safeguarded at all times.
8. Promote Harmony Services and assignments are to increase the GP of a Project through variation billing and through consolidation of logistics costs, service jobs to achieve an average GP of 30% wherever possible / support and maintain margins on key projects, retention of strategic accounts, promote growth in new customer segments. With time the implementation of a brand identity to that of a full service provider.
9. Works diligently in analytical and situational audits of project challenges, engage in intelligent problem solving and efficient deployment of resources to complete projects in a timely manner. The success of these activities must be evidently scored through the Project-based Customer Satisfaction Surveys with high ratings, as perceived by the customers
10. Participate actively in Solutions Selling and adopting best practices in these processes
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Management Functions
1. Work with Account Managers, Sales Executives, Designers & Specifiera to specify the required furniture and materials to meet customers’ needs.
2. Work with the Bid and Design team to verify CAD designs accurately reflect the customer’s desired furniture layout before installation begins.
3. Develop and direct the work of the installation and dealership customer service team.
4. Ensure adequate staffing levels in his/her area of responsibility to meet customer installation requirements in a cost-effective manner.
5. Contract with and manage independent installation teams as required to meet installation schedules.
6. Validate and ensure standard of installation is maintained by all installation & distribution contractors.
7. Develop business plans and budgets necessary to ensure project management team and the necessary resources are allocated.
8. Coordinate the delivery, receiving and installation of products and materials necessary to complete customers’ orders.
9. Organize training/certification sessions to equip all installers with minimum knowledge on handling and installation of products.
10. Determine and implement the appropriate corrective action to resolve design, specification, order entry, production, delivery or installation errors.
11. Travel to client locations to plan and oversee installation projects.
12. Act as a liaison between customers and in communicating, researching, and follow up in the event that price or purchase order discrepancies should they arise.
13. Involve the Customer Service Coordinator in the resolution of customer issues.
14. Work with Customer Service Coordinator to complete and follow through on Field Problem Reports (FPR’s).
15. Ensure projects are completed and handed over to the customers, project management company and/or consultant timely without incurring liquidated damages and schedule for them to sign off the Project Handover Form
16. Develop and effectively promote project management services such as reconfigurations and assets management.
17. Ensure all contractors under his charge safeguard the reputation and premium image.
18. Verify all contractors’ billings and specify all sales project codes for accurate project cost accounting
Harmony Services
19. Promote Harmony Services as recycling, asset management storages & warehousing services, refresh, move management, project management, space planning, reconfiguration, etc. in an effective way to the customers to retain their loyalty and also generate service revenues
20. Work closely with Customer Service to attend to service calls & warranty requests from the customers
21. Visit customers to follow up on the service enquiries, discuss the scope of work, conduct cost estimations, work with Customer Service to quote and present proposals with clear explanation of the details to the customer
22. Upon confirmation of service orders, plan, organize and execute the services followed by billing to the customers.
Solutions Selling
23. Contribute as proactive partner to the business in the solutions selling concept by adhering to best practices in the following areas:-
A) Develop a Solution
a. Positioning Harmony solutions
b. Ensure RFP response includes service specifications
c. Support special process & solutions formulation to deliver value drivers expected of client
B) Establish Values
a. Ensure quality mockup and carry out mockup audits
b. Presenting Harmony Service at mockup session
c. Provide pre-alert to factory
C) Obtain a Commitment
a. Update pre-alert to factory
D) Plan the Project
a. Efficient project planning
b. Work with logistics to ensure efficient supply chain follow up
c. Perfect project execution
d. Weekly Project Review
E) Deliver Values
a. Perfect project handover detailing value drivers during walkthrough
b. Support and contribute case studies to build up project references
F) Review and Renew
a. Ensure perfect Project Handover
b. Reinforce Harmony Services
c. Invite customers for Customer Satisfaction Survey
d. Extend and support effectively after-sales services
REQUIREMENTS
1. A university or technical school degree in design, architecture or a similar field of study.
2. A minimum of 5 years work experience.
3. Project management experience in the contract office furniture industry.
4. Ability to read and interpret blue-prints in English.
5. Ability to lift/move products and materials weighing up to 52 kilograms;
6. Ability to travel to customer sites within the region as required.
7. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
8. Fluent in English and Mandarin.
9. High degree of professionalism and integrity.
