Family Summary/Mission
Deliver and support business systems which meet business needs, SLA's and opportunities by integrating information, business process and technology in a cost effective, timely manner.

Position Summary/Mission
Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains those programs. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.

Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to (* denotes essential functions)
? Knowledge and experience of end-to-end Java SDLC
? Independently designs and/or codes efficient, cost effective application program solutions
? Develops new and/or reuses existing code in a Java environment.
? With limited direction, translates business requirements to technical specifications.
? Creates technical designs for a new application or enhancements, including integration of purchased solutions.
? Performs ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support, according to defined plans or documentation for existing systems.
? Is fully familiar with the prescribed methodology and is in strict compliance with all required artefacts.
? Independently performs unit testing. May perform or assist with integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems. May assist business partners with User Acceptance Testing.
? Independently supports processes related to the implementation of applications/software into production, including integration of purchased solutions.
? Independently supports the Code Asset Management process. Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization.
? Independently works on multiple projects and/or SRs and actively participates as a member of each project team supporting an application or set of applications.
? Independently works on small and contribute to large moderately complex projects that have system wide impact and may integrate across the organization.
? Receives some supervision and direction.
? Exhibits the following Application Developer II Behaviors

Background/Experience Desired
? 5+ years experience of application/software/web development
? Expertise in one or more programming language(s), development tools, and/or databases – desired stack: Java, Spring framework, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML/CSS, XML, Ant, logback, Junit, Mockito, Eclipse/STS
? Proven experience in systems analysis and application/software/web development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Experience of delivering software projects using Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies.
? Capable of recognizing how impacts to business process or requirements would translate to necessary application changes to an application or set of applications and has a basic understanding of interfacing systems.

Education and Certification Requirements
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Good RCA / trouble shooting skills.
? Good communication skills.
? Ability to work effectively with business areas, IT management, and staff.

* Strong and innovative approach to problem solving and figuring out solutions
