Key Achievements & Responsibilities Responsibilities
China is a key market priority for RICS. The successful applicant will develop key relationships with Chinese Institute of Real Estate appraisers (CIREA) Chinese Real Estate Valuers Association (CREVA) and the Chinese Institute of Appraisers (CAS).


Key achievements will be to: This will be achieved by:
? Identifying and engaging with Key stakeholders (including Governments, Financial Institutions, VPOs, NGOs, Firms and Corporations) regarding the International Standards RICS are engaged in, across China

? Prioritise the role out of standards and recognition in China.

? To facilitate the publication of Valuation Guidance that is IVS and RICS Red Book compliant with key strategic partners in China.

The key measures we expect for China are:

? A dynamic approach to International Standards

? Significant increase in use of International Standards and RICS Guidance

? A clearly understood direction, strategy and role for International Standards adoption

? A business-like, market-based, prioritized and focused approach to activities, outputs and outcomes

? Clear market analysis, forward planning, pace and project management that give RICS the edge in insight and timing regarding opportunities

? A positive and supportive working relationship with the RICS staff

? New market opportunities quickly identified and exploited

? A positive Member/staff relationship focused on practice-based outputs

? A culture of excellence and continual improvement

? Strong, productive relationships and influence with Government and other professional and trade bodies globally

? Efficient and effective practices, processes and budgetary controls


Experience Required

We are looking for a Valuation Professional with an impressive track record in influencing at the highest levels to create opportunities to for the adoption of RICS approved International Standards and RICS supporting guidance.


Skills Required

We require clear demonstration of:

? Being a good communicator across cultural, geographical boundaries and a variety of media

? High personal credibility, able to command the respect and influence other industry experts
 
? Experience in influencing and participating in the setting of International Standards

? Significant ability to lead operations and people

? Sound judgement and political awareness

? Market sensitivity and commercial awareness

? Diplomatic and persuasive with strong planning and organizational skills

? A team player who is able to develop constructive relationships at all levels but particularly with other organisations.

? The equivalence of a UK undergraduate degree (defined by NARIC) and a relevant professional qualification in Valuation
