An American company that designs and manufactures custom frames is looking for a Commercial Head to head up commercial operations for the business based out of the manufacturing facility in Qingdao, Shandong province.
Key responsibilities:
- build the commercial organisation
- establish relationships with Clients in framing, design and museum segments
- recruit and retain the salesforce
- appoint agents and/or wholesalers in areas not covered by own staff
- purchase of all raw and auxiliary materials, controlling inventory levels
- manage production to ensure high quality product
- control cash and banking transactions
- ensure accuracy of financial reporting for the China operation
Key requirements:
- experience in a senior level role within a commercial function
- have had a number of years experience within MNC at management level
- a background in framing, design and/or building materials would be preferable
- strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- experience leading multi functional teams a huge plus
- a willingness to business travel if and when needed

This American company designs, manufactures and distributes fine custom frames of enduring style and superior craftsmanship. It has a history of making custom frames for over 100 years and has a global presence in 15 countries.
The Qingdao facility was established as a manufacturing site to supply ready-made picture frames to Larson Juhl in Japan. With the growing disposable income of the Chinese middle class, the company is building a sales organisation for domestic sales in the PRC.
