GFI Payment Services (GPS)
GFI Payment Services (GPS) offers payment processing services to global financial institutions worldwide, mainly banks, with particular focus and strengths in commercial payments and treasury settlements as well as the related liquidity products. GPS is a leader in meeting customers’ direct settlement needs in USD, Euro, RMB and many other international currencies.
Position Overview
Based in Beijing, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager and partnering with the Relationship Managers, the GFI Payment Services Regional Sales Manager is the primary client contact for all GFI Payment related matters and has the responsibility to lead, manage and develop payment related business activities with select Financial Institutions in China North market with a goal of achieving the revenue targets assigned.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
1. GPS Sales and Client Management
? Market to clients within the Specified Market. Estimate approximately 50-60% of time spent visiting clients and prospects, including branch calling. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving targets and growing the GPS revenue through annuity retention and business origination.
? Actively calling on clients and prospects, across management levels and divisions of the customers with specific attention to foreign and treasury operations and Financial Institution Division. Proposing payment solutions to support client needs and business requirements.
? Working together with local customer service unit to ensure service standards and prompt delivery of service to clients (ie. on-site regular relationship service and activity reviews) and insuring all workflow submissions are accurate.
? Manage response to RFPs, negotiating account terms and conditions with client and insuring the successful implementation of the solution for the client.
? Active engagement with Customer Care and Operations partners to ensure effective delivery and servicing of client activity.
? Conduct client road shows / seminars / presentations, including development of agenda, engaging speakers and generation of content to be presented.
? Responsible for liaising with clients scheduling GPS customer related events including regional seminars, training, GPAG, and SIBOS.
? Responsible for all GPS communication with client (e.g. repricing, system issues, updates, etc.) in coordination with RMs and CSU teams.
? Maintain lines of communications with GPS subject matter experts, operations, product, legal and compliance/risk and other areas to ensure success of shared initiatives
2. Market Strategy Development
? Provide competitor and market intelligence
? Identify and support new product idea generation/conceptualization
? Track competitive, product and pricing trends in the respective market
? Develop and implement an agreed market and client strategic vision
3. Risk Management
? Protect Wells Fargo against reputational, credit or operating risk by establishing the appropriate intra-day credit facility and notifying compliance and/or Credit Risk management of any negative market rumors or client behavior.
? Provide input and support to Relationship Manager for Relationship Memo regarding expected product activity AvA management. Support RM as required including client interaction and follow up to respond to variance reviews
? Provide support as necessary to RM/GFI Core/Risk on all GPS matters including TEDDs, client reviews
? Insure all proposals have appropriate compliance and/or operations committee approval before being submitted to client.
? Conduct pricing reviews to ensure implementation in line with GPS goals and policies
4. People and Sales Management
? Report progress against financial and customer experience goals established including updating all sales related activity in MIS (e.g. Salesforce)
? Work closely with GFI Relationship Management, Risk, Operations, and other support groups as required.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
? Highly proficient in written and spoken Mandarin and English, with an acute understanding of Chinese customs and culture.
? Sales experience with financial institutions and product knowledge of international high value payments including treasury settlements, commercial payments and trade settlements.
? An awareness of foreign exchange services is an advantage
? Client focused and service orientated with experience selling payment solutions to achieve the client’s business requirements (Consultative Selling)
? Self – motivated with a strong revenue goal orientation and can work well in a team orientated environment
? Skills and ability to work in a matrix organizational environment
? Ability to work across all levels of client organization as well as interfacing across functional areas (operations, network management, product management)
? Well-developed presentation & training skills
? Understanding of competitive and banking trends in the country
? Knowledge and background of payment operations and systems of Chinese banks is a plus
? Frequent travel for client meetings at Head Office and branches is required
