Role overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity in the field of engine design, working on a variety of projects providing design expertise and leading design activities.
The role encompasses the following responsibilities:
? Provide Design guidance on engine design projects and work as part of a team delivering engineering solutions
? Follow the Ricardo Design Process to Design and release components through the Ricardo PLM system
? Work as part of a team and peer review quality of China based Designs
? Provide guidance internally and to customer’s and supplier’s on cost and process optimization
? Work on complex Design issues and write Design reports and Presentations
? Produce 3D CAD and 2D detailed drawing and related dimension stack up
? Present Reports and recommendations in front of Ricardo and Client teams
? Work with a team of Engineers on complex engine design activities such 5C parts, Base Engine and auxiliary components from concept Design to Production intent Design
? Work closely with customers and other Ricardo Divisions to deliver designs and meet the project Deliverables

The ideal candidate:
? Successful candidate will be a Chinese National or Foreigner ( Non-Chinese)
? Experience (3+ years) in the field of engine components design ideally with some 5C experience (such as cylinder head, crankcase, crankshaft, conrod, camshaft)
? Have some experience in the manufacturing process of components (such as castings, Forgings, machining) and be able to optimize designs for process and cost benefits
? Experience in working with suppliers to turn Concept designs into production designs
? Have a good understanding of a working engine working and associated components
? Must have a proactive and strong work ethic, self-motivated and deliverable focused
? Must be a good communicator and willing to work as part of a team
? Must be proficient in both written and oral English
? Chinese language a definite advantage
? Willing to travel and comfortable working across a range of cultures
? Must be hardworking and have a flexible approach to meeting deadlines


Qualifications:
? BS or MS in automotive engineering or equivalent qualification
? 3+ years of work experience as an Engine Designer
? Proficient in one of the following CAD Packages, ProE, CATIA, UG
? Microsoft Proficient, Powerpoint, excel, word.
