Position summary
The purpose of this role is to manage large and complex strategic
projects of AGA China. The Project Manager will be responsible for the
end to end management ensuring projects are delivered within scope,
time, and budget and to quality.
The Project Manager will ensure that project objectives are clearly
identified and documented, and risks and issues are managed for early
resolutions minimising impact on the project delivery.
The role requires close working relationships with project
owners/sponsors, stakeholders, workstream leaders and members, external
vendors/suppliers (when appointed).
The Project Manager will have business application knowledge and
process knowledge capability to ensure that the best and most cost
effective solution options that aligns to the company’s strategies and
goals is delivered.
The Project Manager will assist the Director of Performance &
Project to formulate the AGA China’s Project Management Guidelines and
to maintain and optimize the implementation of the guidelines.
As appropriate, the Project Manager will provide advice and guidance to
departments performing their own project delivery, ensuring there is
alignment to AGA’s Project Management Guidelines.
Position Accountabilities
Relationship Management
Direct, manage and motivate all stakeholders to manage the work and resources involved in the project delivery
Actively support our business lines in identifying value and benefit of the initiative (ROI)
Actively build working relationships with external vendors/suppliers
to ensure that all initiative deliverables are within scope and of
quality and estimated cost
Project Management
Define, document and clearly communicate the project scope, objectives and measures
Establish and update project schedules with actuals and forecasts, proactively managing any deviation
Provide day to day management of the project deliverable and ensure
that all projects and programs are executed consistently and
professionally
Organize project Steering Committee meeting, regular
meetings/con-calls to align the understandings, request for decisions,
and document meeting minutes
Work collaboratively with the Project Team to deliver projects on
time, within scope, and budget and to quality within agreed tolerances
Evaluates risks and issues associated with delivery of a project and
develops mitigation strategies and manages to successful execution
Ensure that all project costs are accurately estimated and then tracked during the project lifecycle
Identify project change variation, assess impact to project and present for decision
Reporting
Develop and publish regular project status reports to respective stakeholders at agreed frequency
Produce reports as required by Director of Performance & Project
Centre of Excellence
Develop and update AGA China’s Project Management Guidelines, including process, templates, toolkits as required
Deliver project management training, mentoring and advice as required
Required Qualifications
Experience
5-8 years’ experience in managing large and complex business or IT projects successfully
Must have formal project management methodology accreditation or certification
Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and manage change
Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with Project Sponsors, stakeholders, vendors
Proven ability to effectively manage own time and priorities to meet deadlines
Experience in IT, Insurance industry preferred
Experience in branch roll-out, new market entry or launch of new LoB preferred
