Job Purpose

The External Supply Manager is responsible for providing leadership for the operational oversight of ES products by working closely with PPL, Quality, Product Development, Planning, Procurement, GTS, and other functional groups to assure timely supply of product to meet customer demand.

Key Accountabilities

§ Act as primary PGS point of contact for the contractor

§ Assure timely supply of products from the contractor

§ Secure adequate production capacity

§ Lead in manufacturing issue and supply issue resolution and assist QA for quality issue resolution

§ Assure business unit objectives are well understood and achieved by work team in terms of financial, customer service and continuous improvement objectives from PGS perspective

§ Coordinate the implementation of ERP systems for CGES team and evaluate business processes for opportunities to streamline and improve

§ When necessary: Generate PO’s, monthly requirement letters while working closely with QA to support lot releases

§ Support and lead, where appropriate, Supply Agreement negotiations with appropriate contractors in collaboration with WWP

§ Create Supply Chain Agreements with affiliates for exported products when necessary

§ Assure forecasts, purchase orders, and quantities are compliance with the Supply Agreement

§ Provide support or lead product transfers, new product launches, and key projects

§ Identify and implement cost and quality improvement initiatives

§ Facilitate Contractor Performance Management (CPM) process including metrics

§ Facilitate contractor S&OP meetings

§ Work on projects as assigned

§ Support / attend CGES governance meetings,and related external project meetings

Position reports to: Contractor Relations Lead APAC – GES Global PGS Consumer Healthcare and dotted line Sr. Dir - O&P China

Principle working relationships: GL&S Planning, Finance, Product Development, QA,PPL, GTS, WWP, EH&S, Site Planners, Contract Manufacturers, Commercial Organization, Affiliate, Regulatory, Legal

Experience and Knowledge

Critical Qualifications, Experiences and Skills

Bachelor’s degree or above in pharmaceutical or food or pr related technology/ science

Strong record of accomplishments, demonstrated leader behaviors, effective communication, and superior interpersonal skills for at least 5 years

Solid track record of delivering positive financial results on a business unit / cost center level for at least 5 years

10 to 15 years of operation experience (preferably in the pharmaceuticals / consumer products industry)

Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

Contract manufacturing or vendor support interaction

Working knowledge of supply chain management concepts

Good understanding of contract management, negotiating techniques and procurement procedures

Demonstrated customer service acumen and the ability to interface effectively with marketing colleagues to achieve desired customer service results

Excellent verbal and writing skills in Chinese and English

Desired

Master’s degree Pharmaceutical industry experience

SAP – R/3, SAP APO
