Report to: CEO
Position Purpose
Medical Director (MD) assumes the overall responsibilities in leading medical department to maximize the products' medical value to Chinese patients and healthcare professionals in order to support business growth. MD is responsible to ensure the company's medical compliance according to China regulation and company standard operating procedures in regards to safety reporting, promotional materials, clinical studies etc. MD should act as the liaison between the company and Pfizer/HiSun to leverage the resource to support company's business. MD should actively provide input in new products selections and evaluations of new products, and provide effective medical support to expedite the registration.
Primary Responsibilities
1) Strategy Planning and Decision Making
 Lead the team to be pro-actively involved in supporting all aspects of product's development and subsequent promotion through effective cooperation with commercial team as well as R&D team, registration, and pharma science team etc. Proactively participate in the strategic marketing planning process, and provide valuable medical inputs to help company to achieve maximum potential of products.
 Plays important roles in company key business decision process, by making good medical judgment and medical assessment such as new product evaluations/introduction; pipeline product planning, etc. for long term successes of the business.
 Provide input in planning and developing clinical research program; and provide effective medical support to expedite the registration.
 Develop effective medical strategy to support product development.
2) Commercial support
 Ensure providing the appropriate medical support to Field Force and marketing activities.
 Provide medical support in drug reimbursement listing, bidding and market access.
3) Innovation and resource synergy
 Evolving medical team's function by continuously explore for the innovative way to maximize medical value to business, and extend the medical's value to broader areas.
 Work as a liaison between company and Pfizer/Hisun to leverage resources to support company business and ensure compliance.
4) Crisis Management to maintain company's image and protect patient's welfare
 Provide medical statement in dealing with crisis, Approve all external communication documents to make sure all delivered message are medically precise and consistent
5) KOL engagement, shaping environment
 Design collaboration programs with China leading KOLs/medical experts and China national medical associations and government to get their endorsement and support to our products, and expand our products to more geographic areas.
6) Ensure company Compliance
 Active contribution to the activities relevant to the pharmacovigilance system to ensure monitoring of the safety profile of company products and to meet regulatory and company SOP requirement, as well as align with the pharmacovigilance agreement between company and Pfizer. Contact point in the company, internally and externally, for safety-related aspects.
 Efficient, timely, high-quality execution of safety-related activities
 Ensuring the Company's adherence to Chinese regulations, medical standards of promotional materials and post marketing programs. As the final approver, to approve all promotional materials.
 Ensure accurate labels representing all of our products in China.
7) Team Development
 Lead direct reporters to recruit qualified people, build up effective team and ensure its good performance and qualified result delivering.
 Develop company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure company's medical compliance according to related law and regulations; and ensure effective and high standard work of all team members.
 To create vision and high performance culture in accordance with the company's purpose and engage all staffs within the team adheres to these values.
 Develop team members and next generation leaders.
8) Budget Management
 Be responsible for budget planning and management to ensure effective utilization of resources
Technical Skill Requirements
 Rich clinical practice experience.
 In-depth clinical research knowledge
Language: excellent in oral and written English
Qualifications
Education
 Major in Clinical medicine. Medical Master or doctoral degree in medical is preferred
 Master of Business Administration is a plus
Experience
 Strong medical background and at least 5 years clinical practice experience
 At least 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience, at least 3 years working experience in medical department of multi-national pharmaceutical company.
 At least 5 years people management experience
 General Marketing experience is preferred
