SUPPLIER SELECTION
RELATE TRENDS TO SUPPLIER TO HELP CREATE STRONGER OFFER. SHOW SUPPLIERS BOUGHT SAMPLES AND WORK WITH THEM TO IMPROVE OFFER QUALITY. WORK ALONGSIDE DESIGNERS TO IMPROVE SUPPLIERS DEVELOPING LEVEL THROUGH FEEDBACK
CLEARLY COMMUNICATE WITH SUPPLIERS WHY THEIR OFFER SAMPLES/DEVELOPMENT SAMPLES HAVE NOT BEEN CHOSEN FOR FINAL COLLECTION. PUT CLEAR STEPS ON PLACE FOR HOW SUPPLIER CAN IMPROVE THIS
UNDERSTAND ALL SUPPLIER'S CAPABILITIES AND ONLY GIVE THEM DEVELOPMENTS THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO EXECUTE WELL FOR PRODUCTION. BE PROACTIVE AND DOUBLE DEVELOP DIFFICULT STYLES AND PLANNED VOLUME STYLES TO ENSURE QUALITY AND PRICE ARE BOTH OPTIMISED.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENSURING ALL CORE FABRICS ARE UTILISED IN DESIGNS AT HANDOVER STAGE. CHALLENGE DESIGNERS IF THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE

ENSURE ALL STYLES KEY FOR SELLING ARE PUT IN TO WORK FOR EACH COLLECTION. REVIEW THESE STYLES IN GREAT DETAIL (DESIGN, FABRIC, COLOURS) TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONFIDENT THE UPDATE WILL COVER SALES. CHALLENGE DESIGNERS IF YOU BELIEVE THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE

HAVE HIGH CONTROL OVER ALL SUPPLIERS PRODUCTION PLANS TO ENSURE THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH SAMPLING DEADLINES/BULK PRODUCTION.
HAVE A HIGH LEVEL OF CONTROL OVER YOUR TEAM AND EXPECT THEM TO HAVE ALL INFORMATION READY FOR PRODUCTION FOLLOW UPS. CHALLENGE THEM WHEN YOU DISAGREE WITH THEIR DATA AND PUSH THEM FOR IMPROVEMENTS

WORK DIRECTLY WITH SOME FABRIC MILLS AND START TO NOMINATE MORE FABRICS FOR STYLE DEVELOPMENT/BULK. USE THIS TO INCREASE CONTROL ON GARMENT COST
