Job Description

Application Hosting Services, Weblogic/WebSphere Middleware Administrator provides support for the interface between applications and the operating system on in-scope servers. This service includes providing support of the Weblogic interface including Operating System configuration, file systems, log files, problem determination, administration tools, utilities, and security. Systems management tools are installed to allow support to be provided locally or from a remote location.


Specific Tasks noted here - copied from the SRM for Middleware support.

PERFORM these tasks:


Description
Weblogic product SA will:
Install or Uninstall Middleware software
Configure and administer Middleware software
Apply Middleware software patches, hotfixes, and service packs
Communicate End-of-Support dates and new product release information to account team
Perform middleware system software level recovery
Respond to requests for information about Middleware software or operations from IBM account teams
Maintain Operational Procedures documentation for Middleware operations.
Perform startup and shutdown of middleware
Deploy customer application code/content changes
Perform application instance configuration Deployment or Removal
Create, implement, manage scripts
Perform Middleware problem determination and problem resolution
Perform root cause analysis of Middleware software outages
Manage problem tickets per Problem Management process
Coordinate problem resolution activities
Open help requests with Middleware software vendor support
Perform problem trend analysis to prevent problem recurrence and to improve service levels
Participate in change review and approval processes
Implement and test changes to Middleware software
Coordinate and communicate Middleware software change activities
Manage change tickets per Change Management Process
Analyze and improve change services levels
Audit problem and change records for process compliance
Create new Change Record
Conduct security compliance activities per contractual security requirements
Maintain Middleware software security compliance
Review & assess security vulnerbility alerts
Perform Middleware software health checks
Document and report health check results
Document and report Middleware software security alert response
Manage access control lists for Middleware software
Manage SSL Certificates and Keys
Perform middleware product log file rotation, pruning, and archiving
Configure device security policies
Enable new functionality to devices
Define network routing rules, and ensure connectivity through firewall zones is established.

Desired Experience

Intermediate skill level, 5-7 years. (band 7) At least 3 years BEA Weblogic, WebSphere and Tuxedo support experience.






Technical Skills

BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere

Server build methodology

Apache, Tomcat, IIS, etc.

TSM backup/recovery

Oracle monitoring tools

Tuxedo Application support, Vision 21 Application support

IBM Process/procedure for change management using ISM

GDF Methodology

Non Technical Skills (Command and Control)

Excellent verbal, wrriten communication skills in the language noted in the PAW

Able to build server from scratch, for Application installation

Candidate must be prepared to work within a team on a standby roster for 24x7X365 support of customer systems

Will be expected to perform some out of hours work in order to support customer changes

Non-Operations Resources are expected to work prime US Shift (M-F 8AM-5PM EST)

Perform off-hours maintenance, normally during scheduled time of Sunday, 6AM-Noon Eastern Std Time

Written and verbal English skills

Ability to work with Director/Dell Open Manager/Compaq Insight hardware server consoles
