POSITION SUMMARY
The Component Engineer role is responsible for working with hardware development to qualify/sustain parts/products to meet worldwide/environmental compliance while verifying that the quality of our hardware and the interface to manufacturing is at its very best. The position is based in Shenzhen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Component Engineer you will be responsible for:
? Specify and evaluate components and assemblies in accordance system requirements and company standards.
? Ensure completeness of component specifications, including functional qualification, regulatory compliance, inspection, and testing criteria.
? Assist, track and resolve end of life and lifetime buy issues.
? Assist in finding sources and substitutes.
? Work with team members to standardize components and reduce life time costs.
? Lead regulatory compliance efforts, such as Reach and RoHS.
? ?ssist with supplier support issues.
? Experience to calculate product MTBF.
? Other duties as assigned.
? Daily computer use in office environment
SKILLS
? Must have demonstrated abilities in component engineering.
? Must have knowledge of component testing and failure analysis.
Must have knowledge of reliability analysis.
? Requires expert knowledge in the area of specifying electronic components and assemblies for new and legacy equipment.
? Must be able to present information clearly and efficiently between team members verbally and in writing.
? Excellent skills in the areas of writing and verbal communications are required.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
? BSEE, 3-5 years industry experience is a plus.
? Experienced working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, procurement, doc control, product managers, etc.
? Self-motivated, team player, good written and verbal communications skills.
? Supplier management experience working with an outsource environment.
? Knowledgeable about BOM structures, MS Word, MS Excel.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Knowledge of Agile PLM, Agile PCM.
? Skilled at RoHS/Reach BOM compliance requirements.
? English and Chinese Language - verbal and written fluency
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE (Minimum)
? BSEE degree plus 3 to 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent required.
