PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Area Manager's effective leadership is defined by integrity, clear and open communication, high
standards, and an understanding of the needs and motivations of parents, students and business
partners. He/she:
- is 28 years old or more, has a bachelor's degree at least, and a minimum of two years' experience in
a managerial position.
-speaks excellent English, both orally and in writing; is able to deal effectively and professionally with
people at all levels of seniority.
- has a strong and verifiable track record of success in sales and managing, motivating and guiding a
team.
- is a self-starter, with excellent organisational skills.
- has a higher-level understanding of, and interest in international education and company's products and
services.
-has excellent verbal and written communication skills. He/she has the ability to analyse problems,
reach sound conclusions and resolve issues effectively.
- has a proven capacity to respond to changing needs, and to translate vision into practical reality.
He/she has a strong commitment to quality and sharing best practices.
- has an understanding of budgeting and reporting.
-enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced environment. He/she is optimistic, resilient, and has a
well-developed sense of proportion and humour.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Area Manager:
- Oversees the regional team, ensuring that all members are tasked with measurable targets, and
perform required tasks at a high quality standard.
- Drives the sales expansion of all the SA products, including Summer Course programmes, Premium
Advisory services and other SA offering, in his/her region.
- Maintains existing relationships and develops new ones with local schools with an aim to drive
Summer Course student recruitment.
-Develops relationships with local businesses and media with to secure new pipelines for study
abroad student recruitment, sponsorship deals, partnerships, events venues, and any other way to
generate leads.
- Tracks monthly sales and revenues per business line, analyses, formats and reports information
to the Director.
- Produces reports on market trends, customer demography, competitions and general perception
of BE's products and services.
-Submits plans, strategies and partnership proposals with a view to improving SA service quality
and profitability (through re-pricing, restructuring, retraining, expansion etc...)
- Upon approval of such plans or strategies or partnerships by the SA Director, oversees
implementation, tracks and reports result.
- Liaises with, checks progress, and handles issues/problems with the SA Product Managers as
applicable.
- Identifies areas of weakness in his/her office, and works with, motivates, disciplines staff to
improve on them.
- Oversees day to day human resources-related issues within the office, recommends hiring of new
staff or termination of contracts to the Director, and carries out agreed plans.
- Liaises with the marketing department, business partners and the media as agreed by the SA
Director.
-Plans, leads and manages promotional events and activities.
- Identifies, researches and reports to the SA Director business opportunities that are in line with
BE's business goals and strategies
-Drafts and submits for approval the office's annual budget to the SA Director.
